How to create your first event

Setting up an event on GuestQR takes about five minutes, and you don't pay anything to start.

Step 1 — Sign up

Go to guestqr.app and create a free account with your email or Google. No credit card is required.

Step 2 — Create the event

From your dashboard, click Create Event. You'll choose:

Event name — shown on every guest-facing screen

Event date — you can still change it while the event is a draft

Event type — wedding, birthday, anniversary, memorial, or other

Open event or guest list — an open event lets anyone with your QR join; a guest list restricts check-in to people you add

Features — photo uploads and the digital guest book can be toggled on or off

Step 3 — Add your guests

Add guests one by one, or import a CSV with names, table assignments, and optional emails. Open events skip this step entirely.

Step 4 — Customize the guest experience

Open Customize Guest Experience to add a cover photo, welcome message, host names, and an accent color. This is what guests see the moment they scan.

Step 5 — Test, then go live

New events start in draft (test) mode so you can try everything safely — including Premium features. When you're ready, click Go Live. Your QR code is available the whole time from QR & Share: download it, print it, or copy the guest link.

On event day, guests scan the code and everything runs in their phone browser — no app, no accounts.
