The digital guest book: written, voice, and video messages

July 13, 2026

The guest book collects the words — the toasts, blessings, advice, and inside jokes that a photo can't hold.

What guests can leave

Depending on the formats you allow:

  • Written messages — typed at their own pace, no crowd waiting behind them
  • Voice messages — recorded right in the browser
  • Video messages — a face and a voice, straight from their phone
  • Guests can also attach up to 3 photos to their message
  • You choose which formats are allowed in Customize Guest Experience.

    Privacy options

By default, entries are visible to other guests, which builds a lovely shared wall of messages. If you prefer, enable private guest book mode so entries are visible only to you.

    Where you read them

The Guest Book tab in your event collects every entry — read the notes, play the recordings, and download anything you want to keep. Entries follow the same retention as the rest of your event (a full year on Premium).

Tips for more (and better) messages

  • Mention the guest book on your table cards: "Leave the couple a message — scan the code"
  • Enable voice and video: older relatives often say far more than they'd type
  • Messages tend to arrive late in the evening — don't judge participation at dinner time
  • The guest book is part of the Premium feature set, and you can try it on any draft event first.
