Draft events and test mode

July 13, 2026

Every new event starts as a draft. Draft mode is a safe sandbox for setting up and rehearsing before guests are involved.

What you can do in a draft

  • Configure everything — guests, tables, cover photo, welcome message, features
  • Try every Premium feature for free — photo uploads, the guest book, and the live wall all work in drafts so you can see exactly what you'd be buying
  • Scan the QR yourself and walk through the real guest experience
  • Change the event date freely (the date locks once you go live)
  • Draft limits

So drafts stay a testing space:

  • Test uploads are capped at 10 items
  • Draft media lives in a small test allowance, separate from your live storage
  • Keep or clear your test data

When you go live, GuestQR asks whether to keep your test uploads and messages or wipe them for a clean start. Most organizers wipe — but if you staged content you like (say, a welcome photo in the gallery), you can keep it.

    When should I go live?

Go live once your setup is final and you're ready to share the QR code with real guests — typically a few days before the event. Going live locks the event date and, for basic events, switches off any Premium features you were testing (upgrade to keep them).
