Privacy: what guests share and who can see it

July 13, 2026

Guests trust you with their photos and words. Here's exactly how GuestQR treats them.

Guests never create accounts

Scanning your QR code gives each guest a private, temporary session on their device. No sign-up, no password, no profile. Guests only ever provide their name (to check in) and whatever they choose to share.

Who sees what

  • The gallery — visible to the event's checked-in guests (you can turn gallery browsing off so guests only see their own uploads)
  • The guest book — visible to guests by default, or switch on private mode so entries go only to you
  • Table assignments — each guest sees only their own
  • The organizer — you (and your event team) see everything shared to your event
  • Event pages aren't listed anywhere public — only people with your QR code or link can reach them, and search engines are told not to index guest pages.

    Removing content

You can remove any upload or guest book entry immediately from the event dashboard. Removed items disappear everywhere, including the live wall.

    Data lifetime

Media follows your plan's retention window (30 days basic, 365 days Premium) and is then permanently deleted. Deleting an event removes its guests, uploads, and messages right away.

    Guest emails

If you collect guest emails for thank-yous, they're used only for your event's emails — never marketing — with consent tracking and an unsubscribe link in every send.
